Despite being independent of the Ukrainian army, they carry out a range of covert operations including kidnapping Russian oligarchs and high-level Kremlin officials, destroying military infrastructure, and shooting down enemy aircraft. They claim to have killed several Russian criminals within the country. The saboteurs acknowledge that their actions may cause alarm in the West, given concerns over potential threats from Russia’s use of nuclear weapons. One of the volunteers notes the irony that while Russia can enter Ukrainian territory, Ukrainians cannot enter Russia.
