Political Resistance in Serbia

Nikola Sandulović: Defying Dictatorship

Nikola Sandulović, Serbia’s leading opposition figure, remains steadfast in his mission to dismantle the long-standing dictatorship of Aleksandar Vučić. In this in-depth interview, Sandulović speaks candidly about Serbia’s political climate, the aftermath of his abduction and assault, and his unwavering commitment to ending what he calls an “80-year communist dictatorship.” He sheds light on deep-rooted corruption, systemic abuse of power within political and judicial institutions, and the external forces shaping Serbia’s future. Key topics include political resistance, Western diplomacy, student protests, Vučić’s weakening grip on power, Russian and Chinese influence, the role of the Serbian diaspora, and his vision for a reformed Serbia.

INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPT: Nikola Sandulović

Interviewer: Dear President Sandulović, how is your health following your abduction and assault? Has this event changed your approach to political resistance? We were also asked to convey best regards from Yale Professor Jeffrey Sonnenfeld and Steven Tian.

Nikola Sandulović: I express my sincere thanks for the concern regarding my health. I am currently in excellent condition, even more motivated than ever in my struggle for a better Serbia. The orchestrated event, instigated by Aleksandar Vučić, has only further solidified my political convictions and resolve to liberate Serbia from the communist dictatorship that has persisted for 80 years. This is no longer just a political agenda; it has become my life’s mission. I am honored by the well-wishes from Prof. Jeffrey Sonnenfeld and Steven Tian of Yale University. Their resolve to save my life is proof that there are individuals in the United States who value my policies. Having them as friends, advisors, and future collaborators in the administration of Serbia is a privilege. I hold the entire Rich TVX News team and the U.S. Intelligence Community in the same regard. I extend my deepest gratitude to all for their support thus far and send them my warmest regards.

Interviewer: Do you believe your kidnapping was an isolated act of repression, or part of a broader pattern of political intimidation in Serbia by the BIA?

Nikola Sandulović: Political intimidation in Serbia has become a defining and recognizable tactic employed by past and present dictators. Tragically, it has evolved into a widespread, psychotic state that has persisted in Serbia for years. My case transcended mere intimidation; it was an organized assassination, replete with torture and crimes against humanity. My case has fully exposed the background of political assassinations in Serbia over the past three decades. It has demonstrated the operation of the entire system of elimination, including connections between the political elite, secret and public police, healthcare institutions, media, prosecution, and judiciary. These entities collaborate in political killings in Serbia. My survival and ability to testify have exposed the roles of all involved state bodies. I assert that there exists a sophisticated machine for eliminating dissent and concealing such crimes. This is part of a broader pattern of systemic abuse.

Interviewer: Christopher R. Hill has already left Serbia. How would you assess his tenure?

Nikola Sandulović: It is difficult to form a definitive human or political assessment of Christopher Hill’s character and actions. The United States has never before made such a grave mistake by sending a representative who has irrevocably altered the Serbian population’s perception of the U.S. I could never have imagined that one individual, with his corrupt and personal biases, could harm the United States, Serbia, and the entire region to such an extent. Hill has disgraced America, leaving behind such a trail of filth that his successor will face monumental challenges in correcting the damage he caused. I trust that the FBI, CIA, and National Security Agency of the U.S. will thoroughly investigate Hill’s accounts to uncover the reasons behind his public support of Serbian dictator and war criminal Aleksandar Vučić. I am confident that his financial records will provide answers to the disgrace and criminality he left in Serbia in the name of the United States.

Interviewer: Student protests are gaining momentum. Do you see this as a turning point for Serbia, or will the regime suppress it as before?

Nikola Sandulović: Since the onset of the student protests, the regime has made repeated efforts to suppress them brutally and insidiously. Students have been run over by cars, arrested, threatened, chased, and beaten—but the protests continue. I believe that these initial student protests have grown into something far greater. The students have initiated a significant shift in Serbia, regardless of how long these protests last or how they end. Nothing in Serbia will be the same after these protests. The people have realized their power, freed themselves from fear, and, with or without the students, the madness and criminality perpetrated by the Serbian government will be stopped. The future will be determined by those at the top of the government.

Interviewer: Is Vučić’s control over Serbia weakening, or does he still have the tools to maintain power?

Nikola Sandulović: It is indisputable that Vučić’s control over Serbia has weakened, but he still commands the full system, which continues to carry out his orders. There are too many individuals deeply involved in long-standing criminal activities for this network to be easily dismantled. The solution to this systemic entanglement lies in a domino effect—one must first topple the first domino.

Interviewer: Could these protests lead to real political change, or will the opposition struggle to capitalize on public anger?

Nikola Sandulović: The false opposition in Serbia has long sought to capitalize on the student protests. They have the support of the regime and secret services. To avoid the “cuckoo’s egg” Vučić might lay before the Serbian and international public, I believe it is time for the protests to adopt a clear political shape and demand a singular political objective: the resignation and arrest of Aleksandar Vučić. Only this demand will lead to genuine political change in Serbia. Without it, I see no end to the current situation, as we all know who is ultimately responsible for the tragedies, crimes, and political murders in Serbia.

Interviewer: What role do Serbia’s security forces and intelligence agencies play in preserving Vučić’s rule?

Nikola Sandulović: The role of Serbia’s security forces and intelligence agencies in preserving Vučić’s rule is pivotal. They are part of his criminal network, complicit in international crime, money laundering, political assassinations, terrorism, drug and arms trafficking. They are as guilty as he is. Until this system is dismantled, imprisoned, and prosecuted, whoever succeeds Vučić in power will merely perpetuate the same system. I stand alone as the only politician in Serbia who can, knows how, and dares to execute this. I am free from their system and thus cannot be blackmailed. This is why they sought to eliminate me—because they know my views on them and what will happen when I take power.

Interviewer: How do Russia and China influence Serbia’s political landscape, and could this change if Vučić falls?

Nikola Sandulović: The influence of external powers in Serbia is immeasurable, vast, constant, and highly detailed. This influence spans from energy and military technology to financial support and political backing, particularly for Vučić on the international stage. Their influence is evident in Vučić’s actions on Kosovo, his refusal to sanction Russia, his relations with Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and his interference in Montenegro’s internal affairs. Were I to replace Vučić, I would sever ties with China and Russia, as Serbia belongs with the U.S., NATO, and the EU. There can be no compromise on this.

Interviewer: Is Serbia moving closer to the West, or will Vučić continue balancing between East and West?

Nikola Sandulović: Serbia has never been farther from the EU and its values. Aleksandar Vučić continues to play a duplicitous game between East and West, enriching himself at the expense of destabilizing the entire region. Instead of leaving the past behind, Serbia has rekindled tensions with Croatia, Kosovo, and potentially Montenegro. Vučić will continue balancing until the EU and the U.S. allow it. Unfortunately, if left unchecked, this will only be a repeat of the nationalist propaganda of the 1990s.

Interviewer: Why has the opposition failed to present a unified challenge to Vučić? Can that change?

Nikola Sandulović: There is no true opposition in Serbia, except for the Republican Party. The Republican Party has been banned and persecuted for 12 years. No other party leader has endured the same torture and assassination attempts at the hands of the Serbian regime as I have. Where were the rest of the opposition when the U.S., EU, and the U.K. fought for my life? They silently hoped I wouldn’t survive and spoil their future plans for peacefully taking over power from Vučić. There can be no genuine change in Serbia and the region without the Republican Party and my leadership.

Interviewer: How deeply embedded is corruption in Serbia’s political system, and can it be dismantled?

Nikola Sandulović: If the U.S. ambassador Christopher Hill leaves Serbia richer by millions of dollars, imagine the scale of corruption within the country. From police officials with millions of euros to financial and judicial elites with vast illicit wealth, the level of corruption is staggering. How much has Vučić bribed European officials? There is only one solution to eradicate corruption in Serbia: the Republican Party.

Interviewer: Does the Serbian diaspora have the influence to shape the country’s future?

Nikola Sandulović: There is a genuine desire within the Serbian diaspora for a change of leadership, as they know their capital will no longer be seized or extorted once I come to power. They will play a central role in creating healthy capital in Serbia, where they will be protected and respected.

Interviewer: What should Western governments and institutions do to pressure Vučić’s administration?

Nikola Sandulović: The necessary reforms are clear and must be thorough:

  • The arrest and prosecution of Aleksandar Vučić and his collaborators
  • Complete overhaul of the judicial system
  • Dismantling of the communist apparatus in Serbia
  • Formation of new security and intelligence services modeled after the FBI, CIA, MI5, MI6, and others
  • Immediate cessation of diplomatic, financial, and political ties with rogue states
  • Full integration of Serbia into the EU and NATO

Interviewer: Has Vučić overplayed his hand, or does he still have ways to consolidate power?

Nikola Sandulović: Vučić has overreached in his arrogance and is now playing his final game in his quest for power. Time is now his ally and enemy. Do not allow him to buy more time!

Interviewer: If Vučić is removed, what immediate reforms must take place for Serbia to transition to real democracy?

Nikola Sandulović: Concrete, radical reforms must be implemented immediately: the arrest and prosecution of Vučić and his cohorts, the dismantling of old communist systems, and the establishment of transparent, accountable governance that aligns Serbia with the West.

Interviewer: After everything you have experienced, are you optimistic about Serbia’s future?

Nikola Sandulović: My fight is not just about achieving personal success; it is a mission to change Serbia’s history and the history of the region. Nothing else matters in comparison to this goal. The past is irrelevant; the future is what drives me forward.

Interviewer: Dear President Sandulović, Thank you for the interview.
