Fired Russian General Found Dead in Apparent Suicide

New York (RichTVX.com) — A retired Russian general was found dead in a Moscow suburb on Monday, in what appears to be a suicide. Maj. Gen. Vladimir Makarov, who was reportedly fired by Vladimir Putin, was discovered by his wife with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Makarov’s family says he fell into a deep depression after being terminated by Putin, and he didn’t know what to do with himself in retirement. Makarov was known for his persecution of opposition activists and independent journalists during his time as the deputy head of the Main Directorate for Combating Extremism. This incident adds to the list of high-ranking Russians who have died under mysterious circumstances in recent months. In November, Colonel Vadim Boiko, the deputy head of the Makarov Pacific Higher Naval School in Vladivostok, was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds in his commander’s office. While it was initially ruled as a suicide, Boiko’s widow claimed that he was set up to take the blame for issues related to the Ukrainian invasion, leading him to “execute” himself with five gunshots to the chest. In December, Pavel Antov, a sausage tycoon who was critical of the Ukrainian invasion, fell to his death from a luxury hotel in India, just three days after his friend died on the same trip, and there have been reports of mysterious car accidents occurring on the Federal Highway M10.
