In the meantime, journalists and the opposition became the target of repression of the Vučić clique. As U.S.-Serbian relations deteriorated during the regime of Aleksandar Vučić, U.S. President Biden signed an executive order blocking property and suspending entry into the United States of persons destabilizing the Western Balkans, including plans to arrest Aleksandar Vučić on drug-trafficking charges.
