In Serbia, just outside the EU, Dictator Vučić has cemented relations with China. Aleksandar Vučić claims to have become one of China’s best friends in Europe. Beijing has engaged in a number of massive projects in Serbia. All this represents a new phase of Chinese engagement in Serbia and Europe more broadly. The closeness between the two regimes is a geo-political threat, to the national security of west in general.
