Freedom of speech
The concept of freedom of speech denotes the right to express one's thoughts and ideas without fear of censorship, retaliation or legal repercussions. The First Amendment
In the United States, the First Amendment to the Constitution guarantees the right to free speech and expression. The amendment explicitly prohibits Congress from enacting any law that would impede the exercise of such rights, including those related to religion, freedom of the press, the right to assemble peacefully, and the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
